Day 1 – Pasta

Chef: Scotland

This was our first day with the Food Act. Chef Scotland played it safe and made a pasta. I’ve had a number of his meals before and I will admit it wasn’t his best showing and I think he’d agree. He was somewhat disappointed with his delivery of the meal. Instead of leaving the chicken whole or cutting it up by pieces (legs, breasts etc) he pulled the meat off into bite-sized chunks to be interspersed with the pasta. He probably could have added more sauce in there as well, but Korea influenced him otherwise.

Overall, it was tasty and plentiful and I have no real complaints. He hit all major food groups (carbohydrates, protein and vegetable). There were enough for seconds and everyone finished with a full stomach. He was well under budget although had he needed to purchase the noodles and olive oil he’d probably be closer to the $40 limit. Also, as we all know Whole Foods is somewhat of a premium grocery store.  Day 1 of the 1951 Food Amendment Act was a success!

    If not for Korea’s influence the dish might have been a disaster with doused and soggy noodles. Some might say he saved the dish.
